MERRY CHRISTMAS!

December is such a fun month! We sing Christmas songs, read Christmas stories, make Christmas crafts, and talk about how much fun it is to give to others. For our Christmas party we went to the Dollar store and each student got to pick out a gift for another student (in secret). Then we came back to pre-school and the kids helped wrapped the gifts. We then watched the movie Frosty the Snowman and ate popcorn. I hope you all have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a wonderful NEW YEAR!

Maisyn's Half Birthday!!

HAPPY HALF-BIRTHDAY to Maisyn!! Maisyn's birthday is in the summer and so we got to celebrate her half-birthday in December; she is half way to being 5! I LOVE having Maisyn in my class. She is very bright, extremely polite, and has a sweet personality. She is adored by all her classmates. Happy Half-Birthday Miss Maisyn!

The Pilgrims and the Indians!

This month we talked a lot about the first Thanksgiving. We made Pilgrim hats and Indian headbands. Here are the cutest six little Pilgrims and Indians!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Happy Halloween!! I love Halloween and having an excuse to dress up. I get so excited to see what the kids are going to come dressed as. There were some very creative costumes this year! We had a great Halloween party at pre-school. We worked on Halloween papers, played Halloween Bingo, musical chairs, ate Halloween cookies, and best of all we trick-or-treated each other. What a party!


Costumes: Rapunzel, a banana, cowgirl Jessie, princess, Sponge Bob and a Veterinarian.

Fire Station Field Trip!

In October we talk about community helpers. We took a field trip to the fire station and the kids got a tour of where the firefighters eat, sleep, exercise, and study/learn. The kids also got to see one of the fireman all dressed up in his fire gear. He wanted to show the kids what he would look like so that the kids wouldn't be afraid of him. They also got to see the fire engine and see inside all the different compartments. They even got to climb through the truck and sit in the driver's seat!

2011 Graduates!

What an amazing class this year! We sure had a lot of fun together. THANK YOU parents/grandparents for making this year such a success. Good-luck to all my students; I will surely miss you!

May Birthday!

Last, but not least...Miss Elsie celebrated her birthday with us the last week of pre-school. Love, love, love her smile!

8 Lucky Leprechauns!

Look at all the green! These are the cutest little leprechauns I have ever seen. Ask them to show you their St. Patrick's Day dance! HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!! Elsie, Ben, Mercedes, Kamryn, Alyssa, Kira, Emily, and Lauren. Such creative, colorful hats!

Library and Story Time

In March we took a field trip to the Garden City Library for story time. I was SO impressed with my pre-school class! The kids sat still, listened, and engaged in the books that were being read, participated in the songs and activities, and used their quiet voices as they checked out books. The story time lady even came up to me afterwards and complimented the group of kids. At the end, each of the kids got to find and check out book that we could read at pre-school. Dentist Field Trip!

THANK YOU Dr. Scholes for letting us come visit your office and for showing us how to take care of our teeth! Dr. Scholes showed the kids all the special tools he uses, gave the kids a ride in his chair, talked to them about how you brush and floss your teeth, and sent them home with a treat bag! The pre-school kids were so brave and had lots of great questions for Dr. Scholes. What a fun trip!

February Half-Birthdays!

These two beautiful girls celebrated their "half" birthdays in pre-school this month! Both of them have a summer birthday and are only a couple weeks apart. We wanted to make sure they were spotlighted in pre-school and so we sang to them, they brought their All About Me posters, and we ate their special treats. HAPPY "HALF"-BIRTHDAY GIRLS!!
